Well I did say that I felt a Heather Bailey project coming on... so, Nicey Jane has come out to play. I'm not sure which direction I'm going to take with this one yet but I'm sure it will be fun.

I'm going to get a reputation...
...as someone who finishes projects! Amazingly I have finished yet another project! This is getting quite scary. After having piles of unfinished projects lying around for years (OK there are still quite a few of those) I have started and finished 6 projects in the last 2 months!! Good job I'm sitting down as I write this :)

What fun we had!
Mum and I spent a fun afternoon uploading photos of projects that she has completed in recent months. You'll find links to these photos at the side of this blog and you can find her on Flickr as Nellie's Niceties Too. We hope to build up more of a web presence in the coming months and hope that you'll enjoy the journey with us. Our styles are very different but we think they complement each other very well. You'll have to let us know what you think!

One project finished... and on to the next.
I've been spending lots of time browsing blogland and happened across an excellent 2-part tutorial for a Cathedral Window Pillow. You can find it on the left hand side of the homepage at http://www.alamodefabric.blogspot.com/
I have wasted no time in launching into the construction of this little beauty and hope to finish it very soon. I'm using a lovely red cotton from Ikea for the base fabric and OZ from Moda for the 'stained glass'. Typically, I have now run out of red thread so will have to order some more but other than this slight blip I have to say I am really chuffed with progress so far. I may not be able to part with this one!

Another block for Rosemarie's Quilt
Today's installment is another block for Rosemarie's Cancer Killin' Quilt. This lovely addition has been created by the other half of Nellie's Niceties, my Mum. It will be joining the one constructed by me in it's journey across the Atlantic this weekend! I'm sure Rosemarie will love Mary, Mary quite contrary :)

Amy Butler meets Kaffe Fassett in Wedding gift.
So the next project to get under way happens to be a wedding gift for a close friend. This quilt contains some personalised symbolism. Amy Butler's 'Love' fabric is simply stunning so it seemed an appropriate choice for a wedding quilt. The couple that are getting married are Christians so the pattern I chose to use is the 'Crosses Quilt' by Kaffe Fassett. I'm now deliberating over whether to use plain or patterned fabric for the border and backing. All suggestions gladly received!
There are more photos on flickr which show the fabrics in more detail. Kaffe and Amy - a match made in heaven?
