Sunny just in time...

...to take photos of the finished Doll Quilt :) You can finally see the colours properly!

And here's a shot of the back. I love the way the quilting adds some interest to the simple pieced back.

If you look closely you can see that Kaffe Fassett fabric at work again in the binding :) This quilt has been totally out of my comfort zone but I'm really glad that I've done it and just hope that my partner isn't too disappointed in it.

As far as I can remember that is all my swap commitments finished for now so I can get on and do some sewing for me :) I'm going to be making some bunting for my little brother's wedding which is April so that will take up a bit of time but will still leave plenty of time for other projects. I have a few ideas up my sleeve...

  1. If you based your fabric and color choices on your partner's tastes than this quilt should be a home run. I really admire the design and workmanship on it. I don't know how anyone could be disappointed.

  4. Love it, coincidentally (believe it or not) I've been planning a crib quilt done like the top left bottom right blocks, I've just been waiting for my Kaffe stripes to get here. Darn, suppose I should re plan so as not to be copying :-( Looks totally gorgeous though!

Sarah- don't replan on my account! I'd love to see what you do with the stripes and circles! Kaffe's fabrics are gorgeous so I'm sure it will be spectacular!

  7. Just recently introduced to your blog by a friend so I'm not sure what you consider your "comfort zone" to be just yet, but I'd say you are really broadening that zone with a quilt that looks as great as this one - your partner will be thrilled to get this, I'm sure!
